RESOURCES
Our lab is fortunate to possess a number of spectrometers (IR, UV-vis, EPR, etc.) and a range of synthetic equipment (gloveboxes, solvent purifiers, etc.). We gratefully acknowledge that much of this equipment has been passed down to us by Prof. Andrew Borovik's group. We hope to be faithful stewards of his tradition of rigor and excellence; and to maintain this equipment to a high standard of functionality.
On this page, you will find information about our available equipment, as well as links to book time to use several of these devices. Below are some guidelines:
Training:
-
You may already be an established user; if this is the case, email Rex to gain calendar edit access.
-
If you are a new user, email Rex to request training; you will be connected with the group "superuser" for onboarding.
-
Your group may be asked to replenish consumables (gas, solvent, etc.) if it is justified by your usage. Otherwise, we are happy to share our resources to aid in your scientific pursuits.
Authorship:
-
If a researcher in the Handford lab has made a meaningful scientific contribution to your work (beyond the scope of normal equipment training and troubleshooting; data processing, simulation, interpretation, and technique development are "meaningful"), it is politely requested that that researcher is included in publications resulting from that work.
